After graduating medical school in 2000 in Geneva, Switzerland, I worked for two years in Professor ME Schwab’s laboratory in Zurich as a fellow of the Zurich Postgraduate Course in Experimental Biology and Medicine (renamed Master of Science in Medical Biology). I also wrote my MD-thesis and studied different mice models to help unravel the role of the CNS neurite growth inhibitory protein Nogo-A that had just been discovered in that laboratory at the time. Afterward, I accomplished my residency in the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Geneva.

I joined Professor VK Kuchroo's laboratory as a postdoctoral research fellow in January 2008 to broaden my knowledge in basic neuroimmunology and to work on autoimmune diseases, in particular EAE.
