Flow Cytometry Core Facility

The Center for Neurologic Diseases (CND) Flow Cytometry Core Facility was established in 2000. It has grown from one FACSort Analyzer to a full-time, cell sorting facility with two cell sorters and two analyzers (FACSAria, FACSVantage SE, FACSCalibur and FACSort).
The facility services the CND, Harvard School of Public Health, and Brigham and Women's Hospital as well as outside researchers in the Longwood Medical Area.

The department provides flow cytometry analysis training as well as a resources for researchers wanting to utilize the flow cytometry technology. Multi-parameter cell sorting using state-of-the-art instrumentation is carried out by flow cytometrists with 5+ years experience in the field.

Availability and booking time on the department's instrumentation can be located at the following link: http://cnd-cellsorter.bwh.harvard.edu

The Hybridoma Core Facility

The Hybridoma Facility is located at 65 Landsdowne Street in Cambridge, MA. The Facility is managed by Nasim Kassam, under the direction of Edward Greenfield, Ph.D.

The facility was created to support the Kuchroo lab’s research by generating monoclonal antibodies reactive with T cell surface receptors and proteins as well as antigens significant in neurological diseases. Many of these antibodies have made against newly discovered genes and for the identification of new cell surface molecules such as CD54, CD226 and TIM3.

The Hybridoma Facility continues to use state of the art technology to generate monoclonal antibodies in mice, rats and hamsters for use as biomarkers, blocking agents and activation induction. For more information, please contact Nasim Kassam at 617-768-8609.
